Skin needling is fast growing in popularity, and for good reason: it is a highly effective anti-aging treatment that targets fine lines, acne scars, pigmentation, diminish stretch marks, tightens skin, refinement of skin pores, increased desquamation, the skin will heal at a faster rate and be tolerant of injury. Micro-needling works as a skin rejuvenation treatment, by encouraging your skin to make more collagen. The idea is that pinpricks from the procedure cause slight injury to the skin and that the skin responds by making new collagen and elastin. This new skin tissue is, in turn, more even in tone and texture. The aim is to traumatize the skin without collateral damage to the epidermis and healthy tissue. Recovery is rapid with no residual pain or discomfort. Tiny open channels created by the roller or pen device allows up to 80% more product into the skin (7-10% with normal topical application). The treatment is simple and safe to administer, tiny needles (thinner than a human hair) create micro-channels – increasing absorption of active ingredients for plumper, younger-looking skin.
