Where is CS Beauty Academy?
CS Beauty Academy is situated in Hornchurch Essex, which has easy access via trains, buses & road. We are close toEmersonPark, Gidea Park & Romford over ground stations and Hornchurch,UpminsterBridgeunderground stations, giving easy reach fromLiverpool Streetstation (approx 30 mins door to door!).
By road – we are under 5 mins from the M25, Junction 29, A127, just off the A127, left into Wingletye Lane and then first right into Great Nelmes Chase (No 7).
Do I pay for parking?
Parking is free and directly outside the Academy
How can I book and pay for my course?
For telephone and website bookings, payment can be made in full or part payment can be made as follows:-
Individual courses – 50% required at time of booking
Multi courses - 50% required at time of booking
NVQ Individual /Multi Courses 50% + NVQ fee required at time of booking
The remaining balance must then be paid 7 days prior to the start date of the course.
For NVQ Home Study / Full Time routes, a 25% payment is required to secure a place. Then a further 25% is required 7 days prior to start date. The remaining balance can be made in instalments
depending upon the chosen course time frame (please contact CS Beauty Academy for more details). Full payment must be made by the half way mark of the course
What do my course fees include?
Tuition, practical training, training materials, resources, manuals and handouts as appropriate to each course.
Can I get insurance after my NVQ course?
Yes all NVQ courses are insurable.
Can I get insurance with CS Beauty Academy Diploma?
Yes all our courses are accredited by The Guild who are the longest leading established and most widely recognised Insurance organisation in the beauty industry, representing highly trained professionals who care about their clients.

Why are the courses so much shorter than at colleges of further education?
CS Beauty Academy provides short intensive training in small groups (maximum of four students at any one time). The first part of the course covers essential theory but most of the training is practical where students are able to perform the treatments on each other.
What should I consider when choosing a training provider?
- Ensure that all teaching staff has teaching qualifications, not just their beauty qualification.
- Ask if the course will enable you to obtain membership and insurance with one of the beauty associations i.e. The Guild
- What kind of support does the school give to students after completing a short course.
- What kind of support does the school give to the student after completing an NVQ course (NB some schools provide no help with NVQ portfolio evidence which means once you leave your course much equipment would need to be purchased in order to achieve all portfolio evidence).
- How often does the school run assessment days in order to complete my NVQ
Are the course lecturers fully qualified?
Yes – Lecturers hold the nationally recognised teaching qualification PGCE/PCE and are registered assessors with the appropriate qualifications in the subject areas they teach.
What support do you give after an NVQ student has completed the course but not yet had their final assessment?
This is where CS Beauty Academy differs from most teaching schools – We give the student all the support they require to provide evidence for their portfolio.*
* A small charge applies for costs of products, please enquiry as all courses vary due to costing of different products used, you are not charged for the academies time.
* Full time NVQ courses require no additional costs for product use.
What kind of support is offered after attending a course with CS Beauty Academy?
All students that attend CS Beauty Academy are provided with support throughout their career. This is offered through email, telephone or in person and all students are encouraged to stay in touch.
How often does the Academy run assessments days?
Assessment days are arranged when any four students are ready. Therefore assessment days run throughout the year. A model is required for your final assessment.
What time do the courses start and finish?
Day time courses start promptly at 9.30am and finish at 2.30pm
Evening courses start promptly at 5pm and finish at 9.30pm
Please try to arrive 10 mins before start time. If you arrive late it will be very hard to catch up, you may find your be unable to participate in the training, resulting in the loss of course fees. Please therefore ensure you allow sufficient time for travelling.

Do I get a lunch break?
Students are required to bring a packed lunch with them. Due to the minimum hours allocated to each course, time is precious to teaching. Therefore breaks are kept to a minimum. CS Beauty Academy allows only one 15 mins break and two 5 mins breaks throughout your course. Refreshments and biscuits are provided.
Evening courses have one 10 min break and one 5 min break.
Will I need a kit?
All equipment and products are provided for your training on the day but kits can be provided for any of the courses you do if you require at a charge.
Can I cancel or transfer my course?
Course payments are non-refundable and not transferable. Failure to attend a confirmed course will result in the loss of all payments made for that course.
In the event of a genuine reason for cancellation (proof of which may be required), a request for transfer will be considered at the discretion of CS Beauty Academy. If successful, an
administration fee of £15 per course will be charged.
Will the course run if there are not enough students?
All courses will go ahead, although if there is only one person on the course you will be required to bring a model. We will try and help with providing a model also.
What should I wear to the course?
All students must attend CS Academy in appropriate professional uniform. If you do not have one please wear black or white trousers and top. Clothing should be comfortable with short sleeves or sleeves that can be rolled up and a cardigan is useful. Jewellery (except wedding rings) must be removed, so for safekeeping we recommend that you leave jewellery at home. Hair MUST be secured away from the face. Nails should be short, without varnish or extensions. Uniforms can be purchased for you at time of booking your course, full payment will be requested
Can I keep my phone on throughout my course?
CS Beauty Academy prides its self on understanding that most people have to juggle family/work/school runs etc! Therefore CS Academy understands that most people’s phones are their life line between their families needs. This is why at CS Academy we allow phones to be on, but would prefer them to be on silent and vibrate, and if calls are needed to be answered or made please go to a suitable area away from the rest of the students.
What is an NVQ and who are VTCT?
VTCT is a Government approved Awarding Body offering National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). VTCT has been in existence for over forty years and has been at the forefront of developing the vocational system of qualifications in theUnited Kingdom.
How much will it cost do do an NVQ qualification?
NVQ course can be completed as a whole course level 2 and level 3 the NVQ is incorporated within the course price. See NVQ courses for more details and prices.
NVQ courses can also be completed as individual modules. This will allow you to gain modules of individual subjects of an NVQ qualification which can be done in your own time limit. The qualification can be achieved through our normal route during our one & two day courses. You can take as little as one subject or many at any one time and gain a CS Beauty Academy Diploma and units of credit of an NVQ. This makes the learning flexible for students to gain a whole or partial NVQ beauty therapy qualification in their own time. The cost is the listed subject price plus £150 for the NVQ module.*
Why should I enter for the NVQ qualifications?
Some local establishments now require the qualifications for licence purposes. Qualifications are evidence of your professionalism and that you take your occupation seriously. Having every module as an NVQ qualification will make you stand out from your competition when going for job interviews.
How can I achieve my qualifications via the home-study route?
CS is also able to offer the opportunity of Home Study training – This enables the student to achieve their full NVQ level 2 or 3 qualification within there own time frame. Home study for NVQ level 2 or 3 includes a minimum of 6 days (depending upon Level 2 or Level 3 qualification) In house training plus assessments. See Home Study for more details.
If I complete an individual one day course and then later decided I would like an NVQ for that module can I achieve this or is it too late?
Yes you can decide after your one day course that you would like to be NVQ qualified for that module. You must register for the qualification within 12 weeks of completing your diploma training course. Phone CS Beauty Academy and they will sort this for you and then they will provide you with all the necessary support.
Once registered to do an NVQ qualification how long do I have to complete it?
Once registered, you have two years to fully complete the NVQ qualification.
What is the full time route?
An intensive programme designed for students requiring an ‘industry-ready’ qualification in the shortest possible time. Students receive considerably more practical and theory training in order to complete the whole course in house, under the close guidance of an experienced qualified teacher.
